About the Event

‘Annual Camp 2018 has been a fantastic experience and I think I can speak on behalf of all of the Year 9 cadets when I say that it has been one of the hottest, stickiest and hardworking yet rewarding weeks of our school years!

‘I can’t wait to go again next year and experience the camp atmosphere with my friends as Year 10s’.

The pinnacle of the Cadet year is annual camp, here you get to practise many of the skills you have already learnt.

Here you will learn things about yourself, about your fellow cadets and others will learn about you – your strengths and your areas for development.

Here you will forge new friendships and bonds that will follow you through your Cadet career and into life outside of the cadets.

Here you will mix with Cadets of all ages, some you will learn from, some will help and support you.

Here you will Run, Crawl, Get dirty (probably), get wet (possibly), shoot, Paintball, map read, hike, Camp out, Cook in the field, Feel tired, Feel Exhausted, Laugh, Be embarrassed, Feel inadequate, Push yourself, Feel elation, Be successful, Be part of a team, BE PROUD.

This year Annual Camp will be held at St Martins Plain near Folkstone, although the full itinerary is still being planned, but there will definitely be a chance to practise your Weapons Handling Skills on the ranges at Hythe and Lydd on the coast.

A full weeks day and evening activities will take place including a day spent on Adventure Training.

‘I screamed louder, ran faster and pulled stronger than I have ever done before’

‘I have learnt from this experience to believe in myself more and believe in my team because together we can achieve anything.’

Your application and payment of £75 must be handed in to Major Reynolds ASAP to confirm your place
